Christchurch B&B
Christchurch is the South Island’s largest city and is built around the picturesque Avon River which flows through the city centre. Established by English pioneers in 1850, Christchurch still retains a strong flavour of its original settlers. From Cathedral Square to the many parks and botanical gardens, which give Christchurch the name “the Garden City”, there is still a strong English influence to the city. Christchurch also has a great shopping precinct and is the gateway to numerous other destinations in the Canterbury area, including Akaroa, Hamner Springs, Kaikoura and the Southern Alps.
